Washington Roadtrip: Day 3

We found another hotel room for the night and started early the next morning....
Evie going down the elevator to the van while the packing was happening....
At the request of Daniel we stopped at the Sportsman's Warehouse in Redding..... ;)
Eager to show the boys inside....
 Lots of knives...;)
 Looking at more knives...
Waiting while for the others who were shopping....
 On the road again....
That afternoon we had the opportunity to go to Shasta Lake Caverns. Here Danny is buckling up Evie for the tour....
Shasta Lake-it has been a very dry year this year but normally the water level is up near those trees on the right!
Starting the tour on the boat....
The guy who drove the boat was kind enough to take our family's picture. We especially missed having Daddy with us on this experience.
A sibling photo in age order, for Daddy.:)
And of course a shot of Mommy for Daddy...:)
 Loading onto the bus....
Riding the bus up the mountain to the cavern entrance...
Just before going into the caverns they had a small visitor center....
Going in-the caverns are 73 degrees all year round....
Walking through them and listening to our tour guide...
One of the popular formations-peanut brittle-this picture is especially for Daddy.;)
It was truly a neat experience! It was similar to the log ride at Knotts but much cooler!;)
At one point we climbed 80 stairs straight! Quite a feat for the little ones!
The cathedral room-it was beautiful! It was so neat to see more of the treasures of God's handiwork underground!
A family picture in the cathedral room....
The view coming out of the caverns...
On the boat back the little ones enjoyed some rock candy....
It certainly was a hot day and the wind on the boat ride felt good...
We enjoyed seeing the caverns-it was a neat opportunity to learn!
Walking back to the gift store before leaving...
 Evie "hanging out", literally...:)
After that it was time to get back on the road and my shift to drive.....
Driving to the border of Oregon we saw this lovely sunset...
One state down, one to go!
Heading for Grant's Pass to spend some time with a friend....:)
This was Caytlin's actual birthday so we stopped at a restaurant for dinner to celebrate again.:)
This restaurant was really cute and we loved the decorations-especially this painting!
They had newspapers called the Bear Gazette and the children's menu was on the back side as well.;)
 Our tables...
 Paw print napkins...
Happy Birthday, Caytlin! We are so glad to have her and we appreciate her desire to be honest with  where she is at in her walk with the Lord this year.
Thankful for the sister I prayed for.;)
After our hearty dinner we drove over to our friend Judy Ahrens home to settle in for the night. Evie LOVED her dog Benny and this was taken a few minutes after we got in.;) So we settled in after a cheery, warm welcome from Mrs. Ahrens to sleep.
