Another Thanksgiving To Be Thankful For

Happy Thanksgiving, one and all! I hope your Thanksgiving was as pleasant as mine.
This morning Mama woke up at 6:00am and started the turkey. By the time I woke up the house was smelling very good! I got up and raced to the kitchen, OK not literally! Mama was cooking the gravy and she greeted me. No time for talk though, it was 9:20am and our church's Thanksgiving service started at 10:00am. So I found myself racing down the hallway to dress the three little ones.
Soon we were all on our way to church. The service, as always was good but, during the service Dad's cell rang. It was Oma. She was at our house waiting and the doors were locked. The service ended, a quick visit with some friends and we were on our way home.

Oma soon left and we began to work. Mama had me make the stuffing and while I was doing that Aunt Adrianna, Tina ( my cousin) and Grandma arrived! The younger kids were all excited and so was our dog Winston. Daddy had to make some trips to the store but soon we had the meal ready! Daddy prayed, thanked the Lord and it was time to eat.

Me, sauteing the celery and onions.....hot job...

A lovely sunset to close the day.....

I really thought this picture was a perfect way to end. I'm thankful to the Lord for His blessing and I am privileged to be His child! I am so thankful for His gift to us of salvation and the promise of eternal life!

Hope you have a good weekend! The Lord bless you all!

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Happy Thanksgiving!

May the Lord bless you this Thanksgiving! Hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow!
O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron; Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High: Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help. Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Old news...

Back in October our church had an "Old Fashioned Sunday, Sing and Ice cream Social"! It was alot of fun and I would have posted this sooner but, our Internet has been acting up lately. So here it is: A post about an October event in November...... Many people dressed up from different time periods for the morning service. Our family decided to dress in the "18th Century England" style. Like in the movie "Amazing Grace" with the wigs, long white socks, vests and ties. Well, we could do everything but the wigs and if we bought them it would be expensive and difficult to buy 6 wigs for all our men but Mama got really creative and made some.
Later that evening we had our church's bluegrass group accompany us while singing hymns! It was so much fun!

This is our bluegrass group. They are really good! They consist of: Cristin and Rachel -violin, Sarah - mandolin, Kyle (Ryan also played with them on one song)guitar, Johnathan -bass and Andrew -banjo.
After wards we had an ice cream social which, as ice cream always is, a real treat!

Earlier that afternoon I had a chance to take some portraits of some of the girls who dressed up.....

Amy -doesn't she look so cute!

Cristin and Rachel-I love their faces.....

Rebecca-she looks very pretty..

Sarah Pau-another lovely subject....

Group shot-all the lovely ladies of the past!

Well, that's all for now! Have a good day and a great week!

Horseback Riding and Jenga

Howdy ya'll! Sorry, but it get's pretty busy around here! I know your probably have all moved on to other blogs by now but I'll still update! Here goes!
Recently we went horseback riding! (ok, more like a month ago!)Ryan, Daniel, Caytlin, Isaiah and I went to River Trails Riding Stables with some young men from our church, Justin Orman, Kyle and Andrew Stevens. They graciously agreed to be our guides, as we'd never been on the trail or ridden a horse before and needed an adult to go with us. We had a great time!

The whole group with the exception of Nathanael....kinda of a bad shot..but we had a good time!

Heading off...Mama asked us all to wave......I'm not sure what happened...

The trail was absolutely gorgeous! (Unfortunately I couldn't bring my camera on the trail.)The trees grew close together over our heads so that it was, at times, like a tunnel of trees. They were so many beautiful plants and flowers and we crossed the Santa Ana river twice. Other sections of the trail were more desert like and dusty! It made me feel like I was in one of those classic western movies, except for the fact that I had to wear an old, ugly helmet which, kept sliding down on my nose. If I could have had it my way....I'd would have worn my cowboy hat.....the one I don't have!

Afterwards we went to visit Oma ( daddy's mother) since we were in the area. We had lunch with her and played telephone.

Playing telephone at Hometown Buffet......we had quite an audience who watched our game with smiles and laughter, it was actually not to intimidating..Katie whispers to Natey

Joshwee and I...

Later visited our Grandpa Don's niche and his mother's grave where we sang some songs and shared a few memories.

Grandpa Don's niche.....

Granpdpa Don's, mother's grave....

Singing....by the grave We drove back to Oma's and spent the rest of the evening playing a game called Jenga! It was hilarious some of the pictures we got while playing! Our goal was to remove as many blocks from the stack without it tumbling and whoever caused it to tumble. the player before them would win.

Ky (Ryan) and I at Oma's...

Jenga: Daniel taking a block....the tension is building....

Told you it was building......WARNING: this game causes anxiety and stress due to certain situations

"Don't fall"

pulling out a block

Gotta love those faces! BTW, none of these were posed....

We sent Daddy off in September to Washington on a business trip. He was gone for almost two weeks working at the Panasonic in Bothel. We missed him, but he learned alot and enjoyed a wonderful weekend of fellowship with a family of like minded Christians.
