Old news...

Back in October our church had an "Old Fashioned Sunday, Sing and Ice cream Social"! It was alot of fun and I would have posted this sooner but, our Internet has been acting up lately. So here it is: A post about an October event in November...... Many people dressed up from different time periods for the morning service. Our family decided to dress in the "18th Century England" style. Like in the movie "Amazing Grace" with the wigs, long white socks, vests and ties. Well, we could do everything but the wigs and if we bought them it would be expensive and difficult to buy 6 wigs for all our men but Mama got really creative and made some.
Later that evening we had our church's bluegrass group accompany us while singing hymns! It was so much fun!

This is our bluegrass group. They are really good! They consist of: Cristin and Rachel -violin, Sarah - mandolin, Kyle (Ryan also played with them on one song)guitar, Johnathan -bass and Andrew -banjo.
After wards we had an ice cream social which, as ice cream always is, a real treat!

Earlier that afternoon I had a chance to take some portraits of some of the girls who dressed up.....

Amy -doesn't she look so cute!

Cristin and Rachel-I love their faces.....

Rebecca-she looks very pretty..

Sarah Pau-another lovely subject....

Group shot-all the lovely ladies of the past!

Well, that's all for now! Have a good day and a great week!

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: (KJV)

Ecclesiastes 3:1

You did a great job on the portraits! :)

What a lot of fun! How did your mother make the wigs? I remember my mother making a George Washington outfit when I was little, and the wig didn't turn out nearly as good as the ones in your picture.

The portraits you took are excellent! Do you like photography? You did so well - and the ladies' outfits are beautiful, too.

Your bluegrass group reminds me of the one I am a part of at our church; there are seven of us, and we also have a fiddle, mandolins, guitar, banjo, banjatar, etc. We don't have a base yet, but would love to get one sometime!
