Past.....

My memory is so bad, I forgot to share in this post!~
Back when our Church did the CI, mom asked Ryan and I to do a little one at home using the same stories, curriculum and skits! So we did! I had alot of fun organizing and planning it out. It was last minute but we still made it as special and professional as possible! Ryan and I made name tags, set up a little station and collected stuff for crafts! It was really special because mom had never been to a CI as a child and neither had Christina (our cousin) or Daniel!

My Team, they seemed awfully familiar!!

Ryan was able to learn and Teach in his first CI and I was able to lead and organize one. Ryan was a wonderful assistant! He helped me teach songs and verses he didn't even really know! He told some stories and acted in some skits and put together crafts on the spot! He was a real hit! We had a ton of fun and mom cried at the end! I was so happy to serve my family! The kids all really enjoyed it and were sad when it finished! Maybe someday Ryan and I can do it again together!~

Dad is the reason I am here posting. This post would not be here without Dad. It is because he made one of the wisest decisions ever 15 years ago- He married my mom, and had us kids. Although some may think he is not successful, I consider my dad VERY successful. Why? Because he understands that there is more to life than just "Being rich". Some might say dad was wrong to have us kids; he could have had more money, more cars etc. But dad's treasure is the best, because he can take it with him to heaven! Where rust, moths and theives are never known! I will always admire my daddy for this! Happy Birthday Daddy! Thank you for fixing your eyes on "things above, not below!"

Natey's Day!

Nathanael's 5th birthday was quite exciting! First he received a flashlight which he had been asking dad for awhile. Next we took him to Souplantation, where he enjoyed a large meal for a small boy, but, he is growing! Then we spent the rest of the day at the beach where mom gave him permission to play in the water in his clothes. He had a blast and later could be seen walking to the car shivering but talking about his fun in the water to dad! Now, as always, it was time for cake! Mom remembered that Natey had once said he wanted a cake with "blueberries, strawberries and those little yellow square things, that we had in a big container" Mom and I figured out that Nathanael was referring to pineapples, which we had bought some time ago in a number ten can. So mom and dad went to the store and returned with "blueberries and such"

We ended his birthday with a beautiful cake and "Dibs"(chocolate covered ice cream). As he puts it, "It was fun!"

A Day With Daddy!

I don't know about you, but when I was little I used to wonder what it was like for my daddy at work everyday. I was always sure it would be more fun than doing school! That is until I got to go with my dad to his work with Ryan and Daniel on a special "Take your kids to work" day, 2 years ago. This year was no different, except we had more kids- Christina, Ryan, Daniel, Caytlin and I. we had a very nice time, although it annoyed Tina and I that they stressed on the girls getting careers!
First, we got an introduction to the company, PAC- Panasonic Avionics Corporation. Next we visited the test lab where the monitors and screens/systems would be tested to ensure complete audio and video. We were allowed about an hour to test different movies/music/games. There weren't really any good movies except a few here and there so I spent most of the time taking pictures! (Much more interesting!)
Later we had lunch and then a tour. Christina babysat a four year-old boy named Justin. He was SO cute! His dad must have really trusted us, cause we had him almost the whole day!

Anyways, it was alot of fun and neat to see what dad does during the day and how the company works! The Lord really blessed our time and we were able to learn alot!

A CI

Ashley, here.
Yes, I know, I haven't updated in a long while! Sorry! This last week was very busy. I got to teach at a CI at church Mon-Thurs. night and Friday- Saturday all day. Kevin, Kyle and Emily used the same material from Georgia and so I didn't really miss out at all! Stephen was a great leader, and Sarah the perfect assistant! They were both so patient with the kids and it was so neat to see their love for the Lord.
Monday night Mrs. Weston and Emily made a delicious dinner.

Getting Ready

"Watch out Girls! These Guys look hungry!"

Conversationalists.......

As most fun things do, the week flew by! The stories /skits/games and lessons were all big promoters for the successful week! Many parents came and thanked me for the wonderful job I as well as the others were doing! Several children were sad to leave at the end of the week and one ran to me and hugged me and said " Bye Miss Ashley, I'll miss you! I love you!" It truly was a learning experience for us all! The Lord really showed me how much I need to depend on Him for strength and how His design for me is truly best even though I do not like being short at all! Overall it was defiantly something I'd love to do again, if the Lord ever wills!

Here are some highlight pictures from the week!

More Kevin and Kyle humor.......

Enjoying the skit....

Something to chew on.....

Wreckers or Builders

I watched them tearing a building down,
a gang of men in a busy town.
With a ho-heave-ho and lusty yell,
they swung a beam and a sidewall fell.
I asked the foreman,
"Are these men skilled,
as the men you'd hire if you had to build?
"He gave me a laugh and said,
"No indeed!
Just common labour is all I need.
I can easily wreck in a day or two
what builders have taken a year to do.
And I tho't to myself as I went my way,
which of these two roles have I tried to play?
Am I a builder who works with care,
measuring life by the rule and square?
Am I shaping my deeds by a well-made plan,
patiently doing the best I can?
Or am I a wrecker, who walks the town,
content with the labour of tearing down?

Real Treasure

Everyday, at 10:00am I stop my daily work to put Nathanael and Joshua down for a nap. It usually takes awhile for Joshua to fall asleep and if I don't sit next to him he sneaks out of bed. So, it is at this certain time I find myself sitting next to his bed with a book, leaning over every once in a while to see if he's asleep yet. I've read two whole books since I was given this job....*smile*

Today was no different, as I settled down with a book I had started about two days ago; Reading I came across this story....

Real Treasure
We went to Open House tonight at the public elementary school. When Rachel's teacher met us, her eyebrows seemed to elevate slightly. She spoke kindly about our first grader but she said she had some concerns. She then invited us to look at the artwork; we would see what she meant.
Dozens of brown paper treasure chests were tacked to the bulletin board. Each had a barreled top attached with a brad. On the Front was printed, " A Real Treasure Would Be...." We walked over and began opening the lids to find Rachel's treasure and see why it so concerned the teacher.
As we peeked into each chest we saw TVs and Nintendos, a few genies ,heaps of gold, and a unicorn. Rachel's chest was in the very bottom corner. We had to stoop to open it. Inside, our daughter had drawn Christ, hanging on a cross with red drops of blood shaped like hearts dripping from his hands. She had completed the sentence, " A Real Treasure Would Be...Jesus"
" Do you see my concern?" the teacher asked, her arms folded across her chest.
"Yes," my husband agreed, I see what you mean. The J is backwards, isn't it?

I love that! Hope you enjoyed it too!

Life.....

Life is always exciting down at the Sebo home. Somebody has to do something. Somebody finds something to mess up! Something to fight about and yet at the end of everyday......I find myself saying....."I look forward to tomorrow!"

Don't let anyone tell you alot of kids is trouble, it is if you don't train them. However if you do, you will have a house of blessings not trouble.....

Part Two.....

Well, as you can imagine....I almost dropped the phone!

Now I was even more upset/excited as I looked and saw the house probably wouldn't be ready and clean in time!!!! The kids were all dancing and shouting for joy and they began to work quickly! Boy, I thought, why couldn't daddy have called earlier???

Mom and Dad arrived and began to get mom's stuff. Dad took Ryan and I and explained that I was now gonna be in charge but Ryan would manage his boys. Mom gave me a list of things that needed to be done and then left with dad.

The rest of the day was spent waiting cleaning and watching a movie, but at 6:00pm dad called me to tell me he had sent an email and picture of my new brother! Rushing to the computer I found the email and forwarded it to friends and family!

It said,

Timothy Donald Sebo

7lbs 8oz. born 5:55pm
19 and a half inches long

How exciting!!!!!!!!!!

Later that evening dad came and picked us up to visit Timothy and mommy! It was worth missing the trip to Georgia...I thought as I held my new little brother and I knew that the Lord wanted to show me his planning was best. I was also very encouraged by three dear friends of mine, Rachel and Rebecca Stevens, and Sarah McIntire. They had not gone but were cheerfully serving their families,(which was better than doing a thousand CI's), had encouraged me to serve and love my family, and that God''s plan is always best. Every time I look at my little Timothy, I remember what those three dear girls said, how it all came to be and how God's is always working to show me more of His infinite power and love for me!

Timothy Donald Sebo

It was a regular Monday morning, as I(Ashley) dragged myself out of bed. I looked at my clock at almost jumped out of my pajamas! Eight o clock already! Boy, I need to get up earlier, I thought. I was quickly greeted by little Joshua who was ready to be dressed. He looked at me as if to say, "Where have you been? I've been up for almost an hour!" I knew alot needed to be done and I was kinda grouchy as I dressed him for that reason and also because my friends were all enjoying themselves in Georgia while I was watching kids and doing alot of hard work. ( Not to mention that they were probably all busy and working hard too.) I must admit I was also kinda upset because mom and dad were going to be gone all morning for a check-up at the doctors. I knew that mom expected the kids showered and the house cleaned before she got home. That was the way my week usually started.

Mom had assigned Katie and I the job of making Apple Crisp for breakfast so out came the apples, sugar flour and all. Since I'm bad at peeling with a knife it took longer to peel those apples than I expected. After a long wait, I told poor, little Caytlin to go and take her shower while I peeled the apples! She was happy to do something and so off she ran.

Dad had left the computer on and Daniel who was having a wonderful time designing pictures on the computer while Ryan showering and Isaiah still sleeping.Well, I thought, no trouble.

Next came Nathanael who was not easy to dress! He wanted to be a cowboy in his pajamas! I explained that he would not look like any of the 'cowboys" from the DHP film "In The Eagles Nest" in his pajamas, to which he let me dress him and went back to his play.

As I was working to try to get everyone ready for the day and the house cleaned up, a thought struck me, "Huh, wouldn't it be funny if mom had the baby today?" Of course I brushed that thought aside and returned to work.

Katie soon appeared all clean and dressed for the day and I gave her some apples to chop up. Happy and content, I left her to go take my own shower. Upon returning, Isaiah had woken up and was hungry. I briefly explained that It had taken me a while to peel the apples and that breakfast would be ready soon.

The morning past swiftly and I was grouchy when I called Dad and said "Dad, ___(to protect the not so innocent) is giving me trouble." Dad replied" Tell____ that they can't give you trouble because mom's coming home to get her bag and then we are off to the hospital!"
