~Happy 16th Anniversary~

Sixteen years ago, to this day, Michael John Sebo (Daddy) did one of the most wonderful things in the world! He married a sweet and faithful, loving, young lady, Linda Rosette Chrispens (Mama).

Daddy and Mama 16 years ago on their wedding day.

They were married in a little store front church (Abounding Faith Fellowship) and the reception was held at a small Chinese restaurant: The Silver Palace. Three years ago, we started a tradition of going there as a family on Daddy and Mama's anniversary.

Daddy and Mama in front of the Silver Palace, then

Now, a lot different.....

We entered the Silver Palace and were seated at the same table Daddy and Mama sat at 16 years ago to this day!!!! We had a lovely time and Daddy read to us Psalm 127 and 128.

Opa gives a toast (apple cider)...and 16 years later Daniel gives one too (water).

The whole family seated at "the table"

Daddy's orange chicken...look good?

Afterwards, we visited the Holland-American Dutch store (where Daddy frequently went as a child) where we bought some goodies and visited our friend Oma Cathy, who works there.

Natey-shopping!

What's a Dutch store without dutch shoes?

We left the store and headed home, but all romance stories must have adventure- Daddy meant to get gas in Bellflower, but in all the excitement, he forgot... we ran out of gas in Huntington Beach! We managed to pull into the parking lot of a Coco's restaurant, (the same one where the men's breakfast's were held) and called AAA. The day being hot, we all went in and ordered a bottomless drink. The AAA man came and gave us fuel, and we were soon happily on our way home.

What a day!

Way Back In Bible Times......

Today the boys decided to dress up as Israelites. It was really cute watching them and remembering using Mama's clean white sheets to play to be a bride or Mary, Jesus mother, when a certain young lady was little.

Joshua had some of the cutest expressions, as did the others and so out came the good old Canon. Hope you enjoy!

The Israelites......adorable?

Daniel's Costume.....my headband for a headband, mom's curtain for a cape....

Isaiah's Costume.......a pillowcase for a head covering, a blanket for a cape, a broken broom pole for a spear....

Master of cuteness, a pillowcase for a head covering, a baby blanket for a cape and one of my nylons for a headband

Nathanael wearing a pillowcase and baby blanket...

Katie's Day!

Friday, August 15th, we celebrated Caytlin's birthday. It seemed like a regular ordinary day, except for Caytlin. We got the house in order and were planning to get out the door and purchase a bike with Caytlin's birthday money. It was a long time later we were all in the van and on the way to Walmart. Upon arriving and Daddy and Mama took Caytlin inside to buy the bike. We waited for long time in the car and when they finally returned, they had no bike.
Mama explained that they didn't carry the bike and so after calling another Walmart (who didn't have it), we decided to try a bike shop but the cheapest bike was $140 and up. So we went to Target
It seemed like forever before we saw Daddy and Mama rolling a pink little bike towards the car. We were all very happy to go home and without seconds delay we did so.

I felt pretty bad, we'd spent all day looking for the bike. It was now past dinnertime and we hadn't even bought her a cake or sang to her. Worser yet, for dinner we had eaten her least favorite meal, Spaghetti and while we were eating Caytlin came and told Mama that the tire on her new bike had popped while Daddy was blowing it up!

The Lord always works things out.

It just so happened(*wink*) that my Aunt called a little while later and told us she was coming over and she had a cake! It was an answer to prayer! She arrived with my cousin Christina and Grandma and we sang and enjoyed cake! Caytlin was very happy, but, little did she know....

SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The girls helped me throw a surprise party for Caytlin on Sunday August 17th, 2008 which we had planned way before her birthday! We all had alot of fun and it was a huge success. We had tea, then Mama read the story of Caytlin's birth (KJV), took a quiz about Caytlin, unscrambled some names, played "High Tea" (a ladylike version of Mafia), raced people with balloons in our mouths and books on our heads, sang and then presented Caytlin with her ice cream tower. Afterwards, we all shared a special memory of Caytlin. It was very special.

Ok, I had to many balloons left so Emily and I came up with this game!!!!

The Bible, Baby and Chess

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Psalm119:105

The Bible open with the light coming through a lace curtain
Daniel shows his snuggly side
The men enjoy a game of chessLet me think....

Good move!I'll keep score, gentlemen.

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. (KJV) Josua 1:9

What's Cookin?

Ashley and Caytlin have decided to develop their cooking skills by preparing the entire meal on Saturday afternoons..... (Tip: It works out best to clean up as you go along) We had a lovely meat, cheese and vegetable pie for dinner. Dad's reaction? When can you make this again, ladies? Well done!!!

Making Work Fun

The weekends are usually pretty busy around our house. Dad is off work, so we try to do something as a family on Friday night and Saturday. Then, Saturday evening we are busy preparing for Sunday. Sunday usually flies by, Monday morning rolls around (much sooner than we would like) and Dad is off to work (with his two songs now) and we all file back into the house to survey the damage. It's usually not too bad as long as we have been faithful about getting the laundry done. However, there is always something to do! Doing the same tasks week after week can be less than exciting. It was neat to see how the children thought of fun ways to get the work done and play with the little ones at the same time.

Ryan and Joshua deliver laundry on a flying skateboard
Nathanael decides to offer his services (Good thing Ryan has strong muscles)

Another laundry delivery method...... this one is a little reminiscent of Bible times
Isaiah mans the mop
more laundry delivery in a flying basketAh, yes the dishes. A diligent effort must be made to keep them from piling up.
Here we see Nathanael developing his drawing skills. He, like Daniel, loves to draw.
After all the hard work it's time for a well earned nap!

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; (KJV)
