Last weekend we had a family get together to say goodbye to those of us leaving this summer. It was also Daddy's birthday that day so we celebrated that as well!:)
Going through the kitchen "food line"...;)Happy Birthday, Daddy!!:)
Joe was really eager to open these and accidentally burst the bottom!;) He didn't know his own strength!;)
The ladies having a good time.:)
Miguel and Christina-their wedding ceremony is this July.:)
Picking up where they left off Resurrection Sunday, Caytlin, Janelle, Daniel and Isaiah had a great time visiting!;)
After dinner, some of the guys threw the Frisbee around....
Ashlee Fox joined us for the celebration much to our whole family's delight.:)
Throwing the Frisbee around attracted attention and we soon had a good, intense game going!
Caytlin trying to decide who is really on her team...;)
Joe, Sophie, Emily, Janelle and Sammy stopped to pose for a picture while playing on the trampoline.:)
The winning team: they were missing a few players here!
The other team: The game was a good combination of fun and competition, hence our sweaty faces!;)
A game of Duck-Duck-Goose with the kiddos....
Meanwhile others were going down memory lane-there was a lot of laughing at this table.;) A group picture Ashlee took for us. With a large group like this you just snap quickly and hope there is at least one with everyone looking.
We were getting a little tired here.....;)
Getting ready to sing to Daddy!
Lots of eager singers...:)
It was really nice to have a chance to visit with Ashlee before she left for Ironwood!:)
Daddy requested a lemon cake this year! We had fun making lemon filling for the first time from scratch and decorating the cake!
There is always a lot going on in one place when we have family over! It's amazing to see how fast everyone is growing up...:)
Ice cream and cake...
Catlin and Janelle always look forward to family "get-togethers" as this is the only time they usually get to visit!:)
We ended the evening with a few blankets on the couch, snuggling and listening to a story from Uncle Victor and Aunt Kim on how the Lord brought them together, complete with background music that Uncle Victor played on the autoharp to make it all more exciting!:) It was a very fun and encouraging way to end the evening. It was a good reminder that waiting on the Lord is always really important and best, no matter what type of situation we find ourselves in.:) Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:23-25
