November 2012- Ryan's Birthday!

This year Ryan's 18th birthday was the day after Thanksgiving. As Ryan's birthday is normally during the Thanksgiving weekend, it often gets overlooked. So, this year we especially wanted to make sure we got to do something special. Ryan asked to go shooting with the whole family this year. We got the house cleaned up quickly after the Thanksgiving meal so we we'd be ready for an early morning drive!
Caytlin and Evie on the way to the shooting range!
Our Evie girl is growing up!
Some wild characters in the back.....;)
The birthday guy got to sit in the front!;)
Caytlin got a picture of the beautiful scenery we enjoyed seeing on the way up!

The little boys were too young to shoot, but they enjoyed playing with the rocks and sticks on the ground making all sorts of creations. The people who owned the range were very kind and let them play at a safe distance behind the shooters so they wouldn't have to be in their carseats the whole time.:P
Ryan is a real family guy-he loves to be with his family on any sort of adventure-here he is ready and excited! Isaiah, his little buddy makes this picture-they have always been especially close!;)
 The range....
 Some awfully friendly shooters.....;)
The guys.....much better at shooting than us ladies but, that's not a surprise!;)
Daddy and Ryan patiently showed us first-timers how to shoot and kept the guns filled with ammo. It was very comforting to have people who know what to do and are willing to show you how to handle such things.
Waiting....we loved Natey in those ear muffs....
 Caytlin....
Daddy was very kind and patient......;)
 Danny
Mom and Daniel are real partners-they have a lot of fun together!! Those glasses kept us laughing!
Even little Evie had ear plugs.....;)
 Building brothers....
Those of us who weren't shooting sat in the shade on a log......I love Natey's face here-reminds me of a Norman Rockwell painting!:P
 Isaiah
 Daddy and I....
 Shooting the semi-auto....:D
Ryan got a new HD video camera for his birthday-a surprise from Dad which he gave to him earlier as he knew Ryan would put it to good use right away!
Natey-he looked so cute in those glasses...;)
This is Ryan......he loves to be with his siblings in his free time.;)
Caytlin and I waiting to shoot...
A picture with Daddy at the range.....
Now a siblings picture-everyone is growing so fast!
Evie trying a cracker-she did pretty good!

More building and digging!

We really enjoyed spending time together as a family and celebrating Ryan's birthday! It's so true that time really flies past you and people grow up! I remember when I turned 18 and Ryan said something about being 18 in a few years himself-it seemed so far away!:P

We are so grateful for our Ryan! He's been a real trooper and blessing to our family. The Lord has really blessed him with many talents in media and computers. He's been able to bless a lot of other people with it, as well as our family. We wouldn't have a lot of the memories we do, if it weren't for his creativity and videography! We look forward to seeing how the Lord will direct him in his future and are so grateful to have him as a part of our lives.:)

“I am about to go the way of all the earth. Be strong, and show yourself a man, and keep the charge of the Lord your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his rules, and his testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn, that the Lord may establish his word that he spoke concerning me, saying, ‘If your sons pay close attention to their way, to walk before me in faithfulness with all their heart and with all their soul, you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’

So much to say...

First off, I love the new picture of your family!! (we enjoyed getting it in the mail too, and it will be going up on our board). And I really like the new blog look - very classy. :)

The post was such fun to read! Thanks for updating! :)

And there were so many great pictures in here. I especially liked the scenery pictures (they looked like something out of a western movie), the pictures of siblings together (I love those kinds), and the picture of your mom and Evie.

I love you!

Thank you for taking the time to create this post, Ashley! It's fun to do a little "catching up" with you all through your blog. Keep up the great work! :-)

Hi, Lizzie here

I really liked the pictures, because now I have a better idea of what the shooting range looks like. Really good post.

(P.S. Jason's Birthday often gets overlooked too.)
