Thanksgiving 2010

This is the home of the "Lady Marion Brimlow" affectionately known as Mama Brimlow.:) Her husband Ken (who has now gone to be with the Lord) and she raised six children in this house, along with a multitude of "spares." Over the years, this home has been a refuge and a place of comfort and happy fellowship to hundreds of young people. One of them was, Mama who spent many happy Sunday afternoon's having lunch, jumping on the trampoline, and singing hymns around the piano.

This year our family had the privilige of sharing a meal in this special home once again. Now it is different as all of the children have grown up and their children are getting married. The six children, have had a total of nineteen children with two great-grandchildren so far.
The number of guests was around forty-one. This is the longest table we had ever eaten at.:)
Costco and card tables were set up along the length of the house.
Socks were required for the new flooring and Joshua lost one somewhere between church and the house.:) So, a spare was needed.....
Elisabeth Ruga and her Aunt Lois Boyd (It was a challenge getting everything heated with one oven.:)
Isaiah helping Uncle Joe Ruga tape the table cloths down
Cutting parsley and onions for the stuffing
We had two turkeys. One which was smoked and the other (above, on the orange lid) fried in peanut oil!
The famous "trampoline."
Helping set up the fire pit
Salmon-from the Fish Market
The little ones enjoying themselves.....the antler on the table is real. One of the Ruga boys lives in Tenessee and runs a venison stand. One of the dishes served was venison rice.
"Lady Marion" as her husband affectionately called her.
Visiting in the livingroom with friends and family
The shoe pile....;)
Danny playing with Timmy while waiting to eat
The long awaited meal. It was quite a feast!:)
Timmy and Joey eating their gingerbread men.

Yummy homemade pies!:)
Aunt Grace and a friend packing the leftovers
Dishwashing conversation:)
Singing hymns, with Uncle Stan at the piano (keyboard).
Uncle Paul and some Lebanese brothers and sisters in the Lord.
After dinner we played the "Gift Exchange Game." Everyone get's a number. When your number is called you choose a gift and unwrap it. The next number may take a gift from the pile or take your gift, then you would choose another gift from the pile. A remote control helicopter was the most popular gift along with some shotgun shells. Two gag gifts were brake pads and a car air filter!
Toilet paper......
Corn bags...
Homemade greeting cards...
A Niagra Falls puzzle...
ladies scented lotions.... Lone Ranger lunch pail complete with lunch... More dessert! These are the Brimlow sisters Esther, Grace, Lois, and Ruth
This special day was a glimpse of what it will be like in Heaven when we all sit down together and have a meal that Jesus Christ himself will serve us!
When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound and time shall be no more,
and the morning breaks eternal bright and fair.
When the saints on earth shall gather over on the other shore,
and the roll is called up yonder I'll be there!
When the roll is called up yonder,
We'll be filled with joy and wonder,
When we see the blood bought number,
Some from every tribe and nation will be there!
Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. Luke 12:37
And they sang a new song, saying: You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, Revelation 5:9
