Leaving...........

Well, the time has come to say goodbye! We will be leaving at 5:00am tomorrow morning! We are all very excited! We appreciate your prayers and hope to be in touch again soon. I'm going to try to keep you all updated, but we'll have to see!

We are so very grateful to Daddy and Mama for giving to us a much better education than the world has to offer! This conference will be a wonderful learing tool! They have truly obeyed the Lord!

Goodbye For Now!

Dinner with the "Incredible Hucks!" (Aunt Rocio and Uncle Dan)

Uncle Dan and Aunt Rocio had us over for dinner on Saturday night. We had a wonderful dinner and time of games and visiting!

Rocio had decided to make "Sloppy Joe's" for dinner and so she taught Mamma, Katie and I how to make them. First, Katie chopped bell pepper and onion and then she and I took turns and sauteed (I hope that is spelled right) it in olive oil. Cio then had me cook up ground beef with the bell pepper and onion and, finally, added stewed tomatoes and plenty of ketchup! It was super easy and really delicious!

While the girls were in the kitchen cooking, the guys were in the living room with Uncle Dan checking out his "Wii" System. They were playing bowling and really enjoyed it! Aunt Rocio called them to dinner and we all agreed that it was delicious!

After dinner Dad, Uncle Dan, Aunt Rocio and Mamma persuaded me to try the "Wii" system playing tennis. I didn't really want to, but after the first game it was actually fun! It was weird to hold a remote in your hand and swing in mid air at nothing, but it was fun! Even Joshua and Natey played with the help of Ry and I. We all had alot of fun and we got to enjoy a delicious watermelon Uncle Dan had picked out that morning from the store.

Getting Ready.....

Well, I'm sure most of you are wondering what our family is so busy doing! We are getting ready for the annual ATI (Advances Training Institute) Conference in Sacramento, CA, July 1-4. We attended the conference last year, and we hoped the Lord would have us attend this year again!
Here we are getting ready, and were all very excited! We are planning to leave the 29th, Monday morning, at which I will try to keep you all updated. I believe we will be starting out around 4-6 am in the morning. The trip will take over 7 hours. We'll arrive at our hotel and then I think Dad would like to visit some places there. Tuesday, we will have registration, and I will have a teacher training to attend. I am volunteering to work in the CI, Children's Institute, where I will be working with 4-7 year-olds, teaching verses, songs and different character qualities. I am very excited to see how the Lord uses this year's CI to teach me!

Ryan, Daniel and Isaiah will be attending a program called ALERT CADET. Where they will be taken on a tram to a camp. Here they will be taught many useful and survival skills. they are also going to work on verses and character building skills. Ryan and Daniel went last year and now Isaiah is graduating from CI to ALERT CADET. He's very excited!

Caytlin will attend a girls program called Pre-excel, where she will do almost the same as in a CI, but a more "girl" version; Learning songs, verses and character qualities. She is very excited, as she went last year and had a wonderful time!

Dad and Mom will attend sessions of teaching from godly men and women. Mr. Bill Gothard will be present and will speak, as well as several others. Last year (I missed it because I was teaching in the CI) my family heard from and met Mr. Doug Small.

Nathanael is going to the CI again and he is very excited! He still loves to sing the songs from last year and he will be on my team!

So, we have had alot of shopping and preparing to do! All of us have to wear certain outfits to the different programs. Pray that we will find everything we need!

To a more present subject. We are going to have dinner with Aunt Rocio and Uncle Dan tonight at 4:30pm. We are all very excited! We haven't seen them since April.

Well I'm going to have to run! That's all for now!

Busy Days....

Yes, busy, but that is how life usually is and it's always probably better that way!
A few weeks ago I took these pictures with the exception of the last one. Here they are.

I thought this one came out kinda pretty.

I really like the depth of field in this one.

Always Busy.......

True to the title of this post, we are very busy folk! Its always a challenge to get a decent post on here when I can! Time is always running and I'm never at a loss for things to do! Hours seem to fly by and after only a few chores done, I often think, Where did the day go! Thankfully the Lord gives a chance to update when ever possible!

Sometimes on the spur of the moment, I come up with some strange ideas.............
The other day, I started to dance to a song which is programed to play itself on our digital piano.... the results.......are here.

Showered With Blessings!

This afternoon our family was blessed with a beautiful shower our church threw to honor Little Timothy! Pastor Steve and Mrs. Orman came up with some of the most creative games! The first game: It's Somebody's Name, was very challenging; as we were given 25 phrases which were "hints" of boy names (a beam of sunlight = "ray"), which we had to figure out and write down in a short period of time! Dad actually tied for 1st place (20 correct) with one of the older ladies!!!! Second, we younger girls were given a plastic bag with little sheets of paper on which were the names of the New Testament Books. We were also given a thread and needle, our Job......sew the books in the correct order! Cristin won that game! Post Office was next! We had alot of fun addressing the envelopes to different "biblical cities": depending on what the verse inside said, we would guess what book it was from!

Mama then sat down to open gifts. She was extremely surprised at the many beautiful gifts we were given and at how much time had been put into them!

These cute little trains were on every table. Mrs. Orman had ordered them but they were the wrong color! So she very cleverly turned them inside out and with the help of some ladies, they redecorated them!

The People at church all chipped in to buy Mamma a lovely Rocker Recliner .

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. (KJV)

Dad's Day!

Yep! The rumours are true- Dad is now 4o!!

Dad had a good 40th birthday! He went with Uncle John to Disneyland! They spent the day riding, joking , bonding and having a blast! Then around midnight, they went to Downtown Disney and watched "Indian Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." Dad didn't get home til 3:00 in the morning! I hope it was as fun as it looks! Love you Daddy! Happy Birthday!

In front of his Dream House... (yeah right!)

Where can I get a spacesuit like that????

Silly Uncle John.... That's not Donald Duck!

Uncle John, something's landing on your head! - oh, never mind...

Past.....

My memory is so bad, I forgot to share in this post!~
Back when our Church did the CI, mom asked Ryan and I to do a little one at home using the same stories, curriculum and skits! So we did! I had alot of fun organizing and planning it out. It was last minute but we still made it as special and professional as possible! Ryan and I made name tags, set up a little station and collected stuff for crafts! It was really special because mom had never been to a CI as a child and neither had Christina (our cousin) or Daniel!

My Team, they seemed awfully familiar!!

Teaching, during assembly time!
"Ta Da!.. Mr. Ryan"

Memorizing a verse, and teaching the "One of a Kind" song.......

Parachute Song............

My Team! With our craft hats!

Ryan was able to learn and Teach in his first CI and I was able to lead and organize one. Ryan was a wonderful assistant! He helped me teach songs and verses he didn't even really know! He told some stories and acted in some skits and put together crafts on the spot! He was a real hit! We had a ton of fun and mom cried at the end! I was so happy to serve my family! The kids all really enjoyed it and were sad when it finished! Maybe someday Ryan and I can do it again together!~

Dad is the reason I am here posting. This post would not be here without Dad. It is because he made one of the wisest decisions ever 15 years ago- He married my mom, and had us kids. Although some may think he is not successful, I consider my dad VERY successful. Why? Because he understands that there is more to life than just "Being rich". Some might say dad was wrong to have us kids; he could have had more money, more cars etc. But dad's treasure is the best, because he can take it with him to heaven! Where rust, moths and theives are never known! I will always admire my daddy for this! Happy Birthday Daddy! Thank you for fixing your eyes on "things above, not below!"

Natey's Day!

Nathanael's 5th birthday was quite exciting! First he received a flashlight which he had been asking dad for awhile. Next we took him to Souplantation, where he enjoyed a large meal for a small boy, but, he is growing! Then we spent the rest of the day at the beach where mom gave him permission to play in the water in his clothes. He had a blast and later could be seen walking to the car shivering but talking about his fun in the water to dad! Now, as always, it was time for cake! Mom remembered that Natey had once said he wanted a cake with "blueberries, strawberries and those little yellow square things, that we had in a big container" Mom and I figured out that Nathanael was referring to pineapples, which we had bought some time ago in a number ten can. So mom and dad went to the store and returned with "blueberries and such"

We ended his birthday with a beautiful cake and "Dibs"(chocolate covered ice cream). As he puts it, "It was fun!"

A Day With Daddy!

I don't know about you, but when I was little I used to wonder what it was like for my daddy at work everyday. I was always sure it would be more fun than doing school! That is until I got to go with my dad to his work with Ryan and Daniel on a special "Take your kids to work" day, 2 years ago. This year was no different, except we had more kids- Christina, Ryan, Daniel, Caytlin and I. we had a very nice time, although it annoyed Tina and I that they stressed on the girls getting careers!
First, we got an introduction to the company, PAC- Panasonic Avionics Corporation. Next we visited the test lab where the monitors and screens/systems would be tested to ensure complete audio and video. We were allowed about an hour to test different movies/music/games. There weren't really any good movies except a few here and there so I spent most of the time taking pictures! (Much more interesting!)
Later we had lunch and then a tour. Christina babysat a four year-old boy named Justin. He was SO cute! His dad must have really trusted us, cause we had him almost the whole day!

Anyways, it was alot of fun and neat to see what dad does during the day and how the company works! The Lord really blessed our time and we were able to learn alot!

A CI

Ashley, here.
Yes, I know, I haven't updated in a long while! Sorry! This last week was very busy. I got to teach at a CI at church Mon-Thurs. night and Friday- Saturday all day. Kevin, Kyle and Emily used the same material from Georgia and so I didn't really miss out at all! Stephen was a great leader, and Sarah the perfect assistant! They were both so patient with the kids and it was so neat to see their love for the Lord.
Monday night Mrs. Weston and Emily made a delicious dinner.

Getting Ready

"Watch out Girls! These Guys look hungry!"

Conversationalists.......

As most fun things do, the week flew by! The stories /skits/games and lessons were all big promoters for the successful week! Many parents came and thanked me for the wonderful job I as well as the others were doing! Several children were sad to leave at the end of the week and one ran to me and hugged me and said " Bye Miss Ashley, I'll miss you! I love you!" It truly was a learning experience for us all! The Lord really showed me how much I need to depend on Him for strength and how His design for me is truly best even though I do not like being short at all! Overall it was defiantly something I'd love to do again, if the Lord ever wills!

Here are some highlight pictures from the week!

More Kevin and Kyle humor.......

Enjoying the skit....

Kyle, playing the piano. It was really good.
