"Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

December Review Part 2

We really appreciate our pastor's heart for loving fellowship. We being a spontaneous sort of family appreciate his "sudden schemes" like going out for ice cream after evening service on Sunday:)
Here we are at a nursing home where we enjoyed caroling through the halls....
Afterwards we went back to our fellowship for a Christmas party:)
The swings are a favorite with the smaller ones.....
Enjoying our dinner outdoors....
This is the Sunday school/ nursery room....
Getting ready to play our gift exchange game ( it's all food).....
Mr. Smith read a story with plenty of left and right commands at which time we passed our gifts! Sometimes it was very confusing but a lot of fun!!
Explaining the rules.....
Pastor has a great sense of humor and likes to bring funny foods as a gift!
Wonder what we'll end up with...
A happy recipient. One year one of Pastor's funny foods went south as it's recipient (a small child) burst into tears after opening it.
Playing with the K'nex with the little ones in the nursery....
Mom really enjoys time with Mrs. Fox! She is an excellent pastor's wife. She has a real heart for hospitality.
Having fun with Jackson!
This is an interesting picture produced by zooming in while taking the picture!
The Christmas program- Ashley played the piano. See the shepherds in the front row?? The three grey ones are Natey, Joe and Tim....
We enjoyed a girls choir....
A young peoples choir sang a Christmas medley....

     Chorale Medley Arranged By:
                                                                     Christopher Nelson

These are the lyrics to the  song sung by the ladies...

           Brightest and Best

Brightest and best of the stars of the morning
Dawn on our darkness and lend us thine aid,
Star of the east the horizon adorning
Guide where our infant redeemer is laid.

Cold on His cradle the dew drops are shining
Low lies His head with the beasts of the stall,
Angels adore Him in slumber reclining
Maker and monarch and ruler of all.

Shall we then yield Him in costly devotion
Odors of Edom and offerings divine?
Gems of the mountain and pearls of the ocean
Myrrh from the forest or gold from the mine?

Vainly we offer each ample oblation
Vainly with gifts would His favor secure,
Richer by far is the hearts adoration
Dearer to God are the prayers of the poor.

Drawing on our paper placemats (Daniel's tree) while waiting...
We are so glad to see this banner up every year along the freeway! It's so important to remember!

"And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.  Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,  and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

December Review Part 1

The month of December was a busy one filled with a lot of fun activities and special sometimes random memories! We enjoyed several outings together as a family with friends and relatives, while appreciating and remembering the reason we even celebrate Christmas.;)
Getting a birthday card from Opa! She was so thrilled with it-what a good reminder of how we should be thankful for everything!!
Preparing for a Christmas program at church, the house had a lot of piano playing, with a few "helpers";)
Some singing shepherds.....
Going to look at Christmas light displays!
The best one we saw-a nativity and star with the words" Wise Men Still Seek Him."
Stretching our legs at another stop....
The Fox sisters came over one Sunday for lunch after church! Here Ashlee was rolling Russian/Swedish tea cakes (aka Mexican wedding cookies) in powdered sugar. With our limited counter space, we've learned to use what we have!;)
Amy helping form the dough-it was wonderful how they slid right in with us!:)
After praying-finding seats...
Good fellowship:)
The more athletic fellows working on parkour.....
Timmy loves his "other Ashlee";)
We showed the girls how to make the survival bracelets with gospel colored beads....
Our "boots" beside the couch...:)
A morning fruit smoothie-banana and orange juice-waiting for their owners to come and drink them.;)
Timmy and Joe working at the dishes-this was a "surprise" for their big sister Caytlin!
Making use of the space and what they have the boys built a mansion of a fort!
Another outing-a living nativity at a friend's church....
We brought Dad's grandparents with us this year!
Enjoying a yummy treat....
It's always fun to watch Mom and the Grandfather interact! They are both very expressive!
We didn't take any pictures of the nativity or the actors but they had some fun cut-outs!
Love Timmy's expression here!
Joe's attempt to be a shepherd!
Our little lamb..:)
They had live caroling-a fun experience! The lady on the left end of the picture is a homeschooling mom of six-the reason we even knew about the living nativity!!:)
Laundry and books....
Some more practice for the Christmas program. Mom: "No, not "wise up" it's rise up shepherds and follow!;)"
Guys shaving.....
making laundry soap....
Enjoying a snack in her new found seat...;)
Bagging homemade cocoa for later....
Working on making some guacamole for dinner....
This year we rented a boat down by the beach and were able to use it for a few hours to watch a Christmas lights boat parade! This was a very fun experience! It's always great to be able to get out of the normal routine of home life as a family and do something together!!
We were allowed one extra person, so Oma came with us for the fun evening!
Daniel brought a friend too-wearing Evie's jacket here.:P
Ready to leave the harbor!
Timmy riding beside Daddy while he drives....
The view, with the lights reflecting off the water....
We made homemade carne asada burritos for dinner and wrapped them in foil to keep them warm....
This was a cute moment in which Evie was playing with her "baby"-her jacket folded up like a bundle! She was very kind and gentle with her "baby" and it reminded me of how the Lord has given that love for children even at that young age!!

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end."
