From Dirt to Concrete!

Our family recently inherited a trailer. It was daddy's family trailer, and as a little boy he spent many vacations in it. It was then passed on to our aunt(dad's sister) who kept it until recently.
She offered it to us because she was going to purchase another. We accepted the trailer and then began to pray: We had no place to store it.
Daddy was told by the city that he needed to store the trailer on concrete. But we did not have enough room on our driveway. So after alot of prayer, Daddy and Mama decided to lay concrete in between the garage and house. We very excitedly, took the trailer to a friend's, to store on their property until we could have the concrete put in.
Several things needed to happen in order for us to lay the concrete and after completeing those projects Daddy found a family buisness to lay the concrete.
The work began around 7:30 am
The work crew.
Now don't get the wrong idea. We don't usually go around letting strangers hold our babies. He was surprised I wanted to take their picture so as a joke he asked if I wanted the baby in the picture. I took him up on it. A baby always makes a cute picture. (They were really good workers and very repectful of our wishes.) The three on the right are Dad and sons.

Pouring the concreteIt was an interesting learning experience to see the steps involved in laying concrete.

After...................... (it's still drying)

Praise the Lord it's all done!

Hi Everyone! (Ashley here)

The long awaited update is finally here!

This year we really enjoyed the Sacramento Conference! We left early Monday morning and arrived in Sacramento were we first visited Sutter's Fort. We really enjoyed it there and the blacksmith shop was our favorite place.

The blacksmith: He made us a nail and a mini horseshoe to take home

We checked into the hotel around dinner time. This year, God provided a wonderful suite to stay in at a good price! We had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and a mini kitchen. We spent the rest of the evening swimming with the Winslow's (a family we met last year) and then we had dinner at about 9:00 pm (yikes!) . Tuesday was registration day and we enjoyed the first session of the conference.

The boys spent 3 days in the woods, on team stations with alot of exciting challenges. They learned a lot of valuable lessons and character qualities. They had the privilege of building a Marshmallow Flinger, Tepee, shelter built of tree branches, tripod and a penny boat. They also made popcorn and tea over an open fire. The boys really enjoyed it and at the end of the conference they did a special parent presentation.

Their team's penny boat which also broke the ALERT Cadet record!

Caytlin enjoyed a second year of Pre-excel! The highlights of her week were: watching skits and learning songs and verses, the rubber band belt craft and being on a team with her friends Gracie Winslow and Stephanie Iorga. She loved all the songs but, her favorite was "Here Am I Lord," which the girls sang for their parent presentation.

I really enjoyed teaching CI again! The theme was"The Names Of God." This year I was a team leader! My assistant, Daniel Fox, was wonderful and had alot of helpful insights! All the kids loved him on our team, and they kept both of us running! I did have alot of adventures with our team! On one occasion, I lost my own brother Nathanael 3 times(blush)! Another time, I had a little boy who is diabetic, his blood sugar was so low he would've past out! Thankfully, the Lord was in charge and everything was ok and his parents were able to bring it back up. I really learned alot about responsibility and leading. The Lord showed me alot of areas I needed to take care of and used some very special people to encourage me! One, was Tarra Winslow, she was a huge help to me during the situation with the little diabetic boy and was a blessing to me. Overall, it was a blessing, it helped me to grow spiritually and I thank the Lord for the opportunity.

Team C1: Leader: Ashley Sebo, Assistant: Daniel Fox. Left to right: Chancellor, Nathanael, Jerimiah, Janae and Ruby, loved them all! I had three others who came the first day only.

The week was very busy and exciting. It was filled with wonderful sessions, teaching and learning experiences, challenges and family time! This year's theme was: Anointed For Greater Works. I can't tell you all everything because it would take me forever but, I will say that we had alot of adventures! We (children) all really enjoyed the Alert, CI and Pre-excel programs. It was so fun to be with some families from church, the Stevens, Iorgas and Ouatus. Praise the Lord for this wonderful time of growth, encouragement and fellowship! Here are a few pictures but, they are not in order.
